Medusa in Fragments
A collaboration with composer Steven Ricks, writer Stephen Tuttle and director Ethan Vincent, which is played during a live piano & electronics performance. Based on the Medusa mythology, but with a twist. In the words of Steven Ricks, "Our interest at the outset was to have Medusa tell her side of the story, and to cast her, if possible, in a sympathetic light. Other secondary considerations were to have both sung and spoken text, focus on the face of Medusa in the video part, and to include an extended section at the end of the piece where the text would be "animated" and freed from being spoken or sung."
I handled the typography and animation for the section titles, and created the entire sixth movement. So far this has played in Toronto, Belgium, and exotic Provo, Utah.
